Our new The Arcade Pop Up in The Princess of Wales Shopping Centre is now open to the public. The unit was formerly the Job Centre, and is very smart and spacious internally, with a large ground floor area, several meeting rooms, two kitchens, numerous toilets and an enormous first floor events space.
The Arcade Pop Up is hosting a range of exhibits, including displays of historical images and memories of The Arcade, creative artwork designed by our work placement students at Kirklees College and CGI’s of the planned appearance of The Arcade upon completion. A number of historic artefacts found at The Arcade during restoration are also on display. Leaflets and further information relating to the restoration and future plans for The Arcade are also available. The Arcade Pop Up will also be the venue for a series of community events, with several already planned for the remainder of the year. It is hoped that The Arcade Pop Up will be open several times per week going forward, most likely on Wednesdays, Fridays and occasional Saturdays, 10.00am to 2.00pm, though regular other commitments mean that there are no set opening hours. Look our for us when you are next passing!
