The Arcade Heritage Exhibition at The Arcade Pop-up in the Princess of Wales Precinct welcomed its 1000th visitor today. Since opening on 25th September, the staff at the Pop-up have kept a record of visitor numbers and have been looking forward to reaching this important milestone with eager anticipation!
The Arcade Heritage Exhibition, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, is one of a number of attractions at The Arcade Pop-up. Other highlights include the ‘Dewsbury Creatives’ pop-up shop, which showcases the hand-made products of a collective of four local makers and creatives. The Pop-up also boasts a gallery of drawings and paintings by a range of local artists.
By coincidence, our 1000th visitor, John (on the left), was also our most valuable customer of the day, buying a painting by renowned local artist Malcolm East (on the right) for an undisclosed but significant sum!
Malcolm has been selling paintings, prints and books in the Pop-up over the last couple of months, raising a total of £855 (so far) for a range of his chosen charities, namely Dewsbury Community Outreach, The Salvation Army and Martin House Hospice.
The Arcade Pop-up is open on three days per week from next week onwards, so come down and see us on any Wednesday, Thursday or Friday between 10am and 3pm. You’ll find us right next to Boots.
